Facebook to shut down its podcast platform less than a year after its launch

The comes as a part of a broader re-evaluation of the company’s audio products.

Less than a year after its launch, Facebook is shutting down its podcast platform. The social giant is planning to close the forum entirely on 3 June. As of this week, the platform will not allow creators to upload new shows to the platform.

As a part of the broader re-evaluation of audio products, the social giant is also closing the Soundbites and Audio hubs on the site. The company is further combining its live-streaming Live Audio Rooms feature with its broader Facebook Live Suite.

According to Facebook, these changes would “simplify” their audio offerings. Meta spokesperson Adelaide Coronado said, “We’re constantly evaluating the features we offer so we can focus on the most meaningful experiences.”
